Introduction:

1. Asking warn up questions to check prior knowledge/experience of Chinese paper cutting.

2. Sharing My personal experience with paper cutting.



Body:

1. Introducing the origin/history/use of Chinese paper cutting.

2. Exploring the properties of Chinese paper cutting including elements and their meanings/geometric property and its meaning.

3. Further learning about and making one of the important paper cuttings, 囍.

4. Discuss the geometric property we applied to cut the 囍.



Closure:
Discuss more completed sample paper cutting: Now can you imagine how people do the more completed ones?


















Samples of paper cutting will be shown to TAs,  and TAs will discuss the geometric property.

Following my instruction, TAs will make their own paper cutting (囍).

Materials and Resources: color paper and scissors.

  1. Good! Those 0.5 minutes are fine, but sometimes a bit hard to monitor. Be aware too that discussion can sometimes take longer than predicted here! It would be good to include links to designs you will be using. Overall, a great start.
